City Burning Ordinance Reminder:
Burning of yard waste allowed on Tuesday and Saturday ONLY from 6 am to 6 pm.
NO TRASH BURNING ALLOWED AT ANY TIME
Ordinance fines will start at $100 for first offense, $200.00 second offense, $400.00 third offense and fourth offense $800.00.
Bon-fires, weiner roasts, smokers and grills are allowed at all times only if they are under supervision.

Petersburg Plumbing is not on site today (Monday April 12th) as they are allowing things to dry out due to the rain. Thanks!

NOTICE ASSUMPTION WATER BILL CUSTOMERS
There has been a delay in processing the water bills for Assumption Water Customers. Bills have been delayed due to the update of new water meters and the configuration of the software. No late fees will be charged. The Assumption Water Department is working on the delay and will be mailing out the bills once the issue is resolved. During this delay please feel free to download the new water app called EyeonWater that will work on your computer and/or smartphone. The app will require an email address and the first 4 numbers of your water account, including any leading zeroes. You will be able to track the use of your water and help you detect possible leaks. Assumption residents:.
You may have noticed a rate increase on your Advanced Disposal bill. The City has paid for the increase for the last 2 years. The contract was signed for 5 years and expires December 31, 2023. Each year in the contract the rate is set to increase. If you have any questions please contact your Alderman, the Mayor or City Clerk.

Assumption Residents: Waste Management has acquired the assets and customers of Advanced Disposal.
The following is a statement from Waste Management about the acquisition:
Waste Management's acquisition of Advanced Disposal means our combined resources will allow us to provide exceptional service you can trust.
Current Advanced Disposal customers will migrate to WM systems in phases over the next 12 months. We will notify you any time there are changes to your account or service, and we'll keep you informed along the way with updates and information via our website.
